TAP Futbol Club [ HOME of “ Team America Premier ” ] for talent identification and youth player development operates in Northern Virginia and Fairfax County. This unique club brings elite and premier level soccer to many talented youths in the metropolitan region. The TAP Futbol philosophy founded in 1999, and also known as “Team America Premier” has been producing some of the top soccer players from Division I, Division II, and Division III College programs, as well as many junior colleges, US Youth National teams and professional teams in the MLS. The TAP Futbol Philosophy of youth players soccer development has its early beginnings of teaching soccer with an emphasis on learning the game as many youths experience in the international young professional soccer systems. The philosophy, methodology, ideas and vision from club systems such as AJAX, Tauichi, Liverpool and Brazil, were introduced and promoted by one of it's co-founders Mr. Clyde Watson, a true soccer visionary. Clyde Watson's belief that the game of soccer in America needs the attention of international standards, practices, goals and objectives. Technical and tactical skill development at an early age is basic to this vision. The co-founders, Mr. Clyde Watson and Mr. Brian Robertson believed that every player, no matter the background and financial position of the child, should have the opportunity to learn and develop in the game of soccer. TAP Futbol provides soccer development on a year round basis. New and innovative training methods are constantly being introduced to the players. The players are exposed to early skill development with careful attention being paid to the individual technical skills as well as tactical skills of each player. Training is year round. Teams are encouraged to play at the highest levels of competition in the region and the nation. Each year a TAP team between the ages of U-14 and U-17 is sent on a soccer tour to Europe or South America as part of an international experience, attending training, playing games and tournaments. Tap provides other programs that introduce international coaches from Holland, England, Bolivia, Brazil and other countries as part of player development. TAP coaches are mentored and often receive training from international coaches as part of the TAP system. The famous "Ball Masters" soccer development system founded by Mr. Watson provides a rich experience of soccer training and development for young players.
